Dear Parents and Guardians,
We invite you to attend Astoria High School’s Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. These meetings are an important opportunity to connect with teachers, discuss your student’s progress, and work together to prepare them for life after high school—whether that’s college, a career, or other next steps.
We strongly encourage in-person attendance to build meaningful connections, but we understand that schedules can be challenging. Zoom or phone conferences are also available upon request.
Your involvement makes a real difference in your student’s success, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Warm regards,
Dr. Tori Lindeman
Astoria Superintendent and
Astoria High School Principal
Superintendent’s Update: A Strong Start to the School Year
September 25, 2025
Astoria CUSD 1 has officially kicked off another school year, and I am thrilled to share what a wonderful beginning it has been for our students, staff, and families. The energy in our classrooms and hallways has been nothing short of inspiring. From our youngest learners walking into their classrooms for the first time, to our high school students diving into challenging new courses and activities, there is a true sense of excitement and purpose across the district.
Our teachers and support staff have done an outstanding job preparing engaging lessons, building welcoming environments, and ensuring that every student feels supported from day one. I am continually impressed by the dedication of our staff to not only teach, but also to connect with students and build lasting relationships. These connections are the foundation of learning. We are excited about the upcoming annual House sorting in October.
This year, we are also focused on continuous growth and improvement. From new instructional strategies (intervention hour) to enhanced extracurricular opportunities, Astoria CUSD 1 is committed to helping each student reach their fullest potential. It has been wonderful to see students enthusiastically participating in athletics, music/band, clubs, and other activities that strengthen our school community. It was wonderful to experience my first Astoria Homecoming!
Of course, none of this is possible without the ongoing support of our families and community members. Your encouragement, involvement, and partnership are what make Astoria CUSD 1 such a special place to learn and grow. Together, we are providing experiences and opportunities that prepare our students not just for success in school, but for success in life.
Thank you for helping us begin the year on such a positive note. I look forward to building on this momentum and celebrating the many successes that lie ahead.
