Dear Astoria CUSD #1 Community,
It is with great excitement and deep gratitude that I introduce myself as the new superintendent of Astoria Community Unit School District #1. My name is Dr. Tori Lindeman, and I am honored to join a district with such a rich history, dedicated staff, and supportive community.
As we begin this new school year together, I am filled with optimism and enthusiasm for the opportunities ahead. I believe that strong schools are the heart of a thriving community, and I am committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where all students can reach their full potential.
I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart, Brian, since 1986. Together, we have two sons, Cody and Andrew, who both live in the Quad Cities area. Brian is currently serving with the Department of the Army in The Netherlands and will be joining me in 2026.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, attending live music and concerts, riding motorcycles, golfing, and spending quality time with my grandchildren and family. When it's time to relax, I’m most likely watching a good mystery or comedy.
My background is in Special Education. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (SIU) and a Master’s Degree in Administration (WIU). I also earned an Educational Specialist degree in Leadership (WIU) and a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership, with an emphasis in Organizational Development (GCU). I am deeply passionate about fostering a cohesive educational environment that puts children first.
In addition to Illinois Public Schools, I have had the opportunity to see education from the vantage point of Texas, Iowa and other countries. This has provided me such an amazing insight to the unique and endless ways we can educate and develop students.
I look forward to building on the district’s traditions of excellence while exploring innovative ways to support our students, staff, and families. Collaboration and communication will be key as we move forward together, and I am eager to listen, learn, and lead alongside each of you.
Thank you for the warm welcome I’ve already received. I am truly honored to serve as your superintendent and look forward to a fantastic year ahead.
Warm regards,
Dr. Tori Lindeman
